The Lord Jesus Christ: God the Son 10
In His human body, in which He died and came back to life, He becomes Head over all things to the Church, which is the New Creation, the new humanity.
When He became human, the Son of God took upon Himself not only a human body, but also a human soul and spirit. Thus becoming both the material and immaterial sides of human existence, He became entire man, and so closely and permanently related to the human family that He is rightly called "The Last Adam," and "the body of his glory" (Philippians 3:21) is now an indisputable fact.
He who is the eternal Son, Jehovah-God, was also the Son of Mary, the Boy of Nazareth, the Teacher and Healer of Judea, the Guest at Bethany, the Lamb of Calvary. He will yet be the King of Glory, as He is now the Saviour of men, the High Priest, the Coming Bridegroom and Lord.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, today I acknowledge that though You are eternally existent, You took on a human body and limited Yourself to identify with me, so You could show me the love of God for me.
Today, I ask that You make Yourself real to me, so I can know You personally, and receive the eternal life and new nature You have promised me, Amen.
